Thought I'd just fill you in on Thor.
Well, he's been on the mega-dosage of Predisolone (25mg x 2) daily for a month now - and he is doing really well. He now decides just how much exercise he is taking - he is walked off-lead whilst we take the others - sometimes he comes all the way round (about 30 mins' walk morning, 45 mins pm) other times he mooches around at the start of the walk and ambles back into the garden and checks on the cats, etc. He only limps or runs on three legs if he gets excited at the end of a walk, so we're pleased with that.
He's shown no signs of incontinence apart from a couple of mornings at the start of this dosage, when Adrian didn't open the back door in time . However, he obviously does suffer from the "munchies", because he has become a late graduate into the Jet/Tramp school of bin-diving......something, as an honorable Aussie he has NEVER done before.....he even stole 2 packets of digestive biscuits that I'd left (still wrapped) on the worktop and ate them all - think he was going to trying making a cup of coffee later :D . He has also discovered the joys of half a pound of butter and half a loaf of sunflower granery bread too....... - he has carrots, stuffed kongs, the occasional recreational bone, etc etc etc - but obviously the ghost of Purdey past whispers to him about the forbidden food tasting sweetest.
We go back to see the vet on Thursday (our own one) - and I think she'll be pleased to see a happy, bouncing Thor again :)

Good to hear he's doing well at last :)
Hope he goes from strength to strength :) :)
When my old dog was on Prednisolone (for 2 years

) I used to soak his dry food to help his tum feel fuller ;) in addition to the bones and crunchy veggies but it did mean that we had to be letting him out
very regularly for a wee ;)
