Has anybody got one of these ?

I bought one a couple of weeks ago so I could give the girls some excercise whilst I was recovering from my OP.

They love it and have such good fun !

The only problem is now it is giving me a very sore hand and is very bruised inbetween my thumb and index finger on my inner hand

Anybody else had this problem at all ?

Lucy

I've got one Lucy for my youngster and he loves it - it's a perfect way to give him lots of exercise and also keeps his focus largely on me.

Not had any problems with my hands though - could you be gripping it too tighly or extending your index finger along the wand?

I don't suppose they are all made by the same company either so maybe they vary slightly in design.

We have one too and yes, got the sore patch between finger and thumb. Try throwing underarm, with a sort of a flick of the wrist., the ball should go nearly as far but without the associated pain.

I think I maybe not grasping it enough as did a really big fling this morning and ouch did it hurt

I will try the underarm throw and see if that works :) Thanks Bedruthen :)

They are good though as if I just throw a ball the girls get bored with my weak girly attempts and go off anf find something more interesting to do like smell poo

They also do a lot of searching as often the silly things go off in the wrong direction and so we have to do a search and find excercise but you do have to keep an eye on where it went as as soon as they see some of their chums they are off to say hello :D :D We have just bought a jumbo bag of tennis balls :D

I'm so glad you said that Lucy, now I know I'm not the only one who is useless at chucking balls. :D

Give me a hockey stick and a ball and that is completely different matter :D

most women are useless at throwing balls, its something to do with having a shorter forearm and of course, breasts!

I always used a ball on a rope - can throw it most of the way across the field with just a flick of the wrist ;) ;) ;)

I use toys on ropes too - the glo kong goes particularly far :D

Yep, I have one - and buy tennis balls in bags of 50 for when they get lost. The dogs and I love it, not only does the ball go much further than I can fling it, but you never have to touch the slavery, muddy ball :)

and buy tennis balls in bags of 50
WHERE FROM????????????????????????????????
Lea :)
- By JaneG [gb] Date 06.12.06 19:39 UTC
ebay of course :)  I've already been through one bag and am on my second - although I'm hoping the long grass in the field will die back in the winter and reveal a sea of tennis balls!

Whey hey, Thanks :D :D :D
Now off to find a ball launcher!!!

Yes, we can tell - and it's fabulous :D

be careful if buying a ball thrower on ebay, a bought a couple where the neck part was so thin the thing bent instead of picking the ball up

We had a ball launcher.  I don't think Shay thought much off it and displayed his displeasure with it by chewing off the bit that holds the tennis ball.  So all we have now is a plastic stick

we have one-Bu loves it. He loves it more than the balls that it throws, but hey ho! I used to have one of them HyperDog slingshot type launchers, but the balls flew too fast for the dogs to keep up with!
