My friend has just purchased a King Charles Cavalier from an Accredited Breeder and I have never seen anything as shabby in all my life.  it is so thin I can't explain.  It is lively and is now eating well it has had its first injections and in itself it seams fine but I am sure it shouldn't be so thin.  any advice?  also it is very timid so any advice offered would be great.

Hi. I have a CKCS and was a nice size when we got him but from there on went through stages of being really skinny then he would put a bit of weight on etc etc.....What is he/she fed on? If your friend is worried then perhaps a visit to the vet for a health check would be reassuring for her. Is the pup up to date with worming treatments? aaaw.......Cavalier puppies! Love them! What colour is he/she?

Cavalier King Charles Spaniels can often be quite skiny as young puppies & one of mine is still quite slim(he is spot on for weight @ 15 lbs & is 6 years old)
BTW just because the breeder is accredited doesn't mean they are vetted by the KC just that they fulfil the requirements for registration with the KC as accredited
