I was told if you enter your dog into a show and the ownership that was put on the entry form was incorrect and your dog goes on to win something, that the win can be taken away.If this is correct what can you do if you accidentaly put down the wrong ownership (the dog was entered online and the details werent updated from the pervious ownership) We have rung the secretary who told us that it was our fault and she couldnt do anything about it and to ring fossedata which we did and was told to ring the secretary :rolleyes: Should we worry about this and is there anything we can do? I'm not sure how entering online works.  If you put in all your details for the dog and then just type in it's name when you want to enter, and you didn't update the owners details then yes it's your fault and the award could be taken away.  If, however, you put in the correct details and fossedata didn't update their records then it's not your fault.  I don't know how you'd prove you put in the correct details unless you printed the page off though.

Any errors in the catalogue should really be dealt with while you're at the show.

You could just see the secretary at the show and say that the records of ownership had not been updated, and tell them the correct details. Regardless of who made the error, if they are notified of it before judging starts, they surely ought to be able to correct it manually.

You should tell the Secretary at the show about the error, and get your details updated with Fosse Data. Compete - it will then be up to the KC what to do about any award you might win - which in part will depend on if anyone points out the error to them.

In case of a genuine error like this the KC are not always harsh - but the KC are the only people who can disqualify.

Having said that if it were a long journey with 1 dog I would be inclined to miss the show

As long as you get the information corrected before judging starts your dog shouln't not lose any awards

There is no guarantee of that Moonmaiden - its up to the KC. I would hope they would see this as a genuine error and ignore it, but until it gets to them none of u can say what they will do.

Yes it was our fault, we forgot to update the reccords before entering the show and only remeber after the payment had been completed. Its not far away the show so will prob just do it anyway, but i was just wondering as when we asked the secretary to change it she said she couldnt possible do that as the entry was made online! surley she can do it manually? Or before we go into the ring manually?? She did seem to helpful at all :rolleyes:

I would make a point of going & be early & get it in writing that you have corrected the information That is what I did. The secretary made a note & gave me two slips on for me & one for the ring steward to put in the judges catalogue

I did it once with a date of birth & there was no come back & Lou was placed so it would have ben picked up. Had it happened to other exhibitors when I have ben a show secretary & the KC have never even bothered to contact me & one went BIS & another got final JW points so the error would have been noted by the KC as they contacted me regarding a few missing entries that I had to add to the catalogue for the same shows.
The KC are not as set in stone as everyone thinks

As moonmaiden said the main thing is to go see the Secretary very early. If you are talking LKA remember the Sec used to be a senior KC committee figure and has great experience so does know what she is talking about.
