Hi i have a question regarding kennel cough, every thing i have read and been told so far is that dogs can get it by being in contact with dogs that have it, but if my dogs have it can i pass it on to other dogs.
Hope someone can help me with this.

It's a respiratory infection so the virus thrives best in the warm and wet, therefore, although it transmits all too readily from dog to dog merely close enough to breath in the exhalations of the other, I doubt it would survive very long at all on a human's person so the danger of you passing it on when out and about seems very slim indeed.

To be on the safe side, if any of mine had it, I'd stay away from young puppies.

When I had it in the grooming parlour, then I'd spray myself with Parvocide before I went indoors or touched my own dogs. :)

One of my dogs came home from Gundog Breeds with suspected Kennel Cough. I was supposed to visit a friend who has a new litter of pups and I've been banned :( ;) I fully understand why. I actually phoned her to tell her I wasn't coming. I would have been horrified if I'd gone up a day earlier and then had to tell her  As it's only 4 months since all my dogs had very serious cases of KC I'm a bit puzzled as to why we've got it so soon. Oh well, that's life I suppose. Must be a different strain.
