Hi everyone
One of our kittens stayed out for the night on Thursday. He has done this before, so we weren't unduly worried. He didn't come in in the morning however, but finally turned up Friday evening. He was limping, won't put any weight on one of his back legs, although he managed to jump into his radiator cat bed. Later we noticed that there was blood in his urine. This morning he is eating a little and it purring away, but still not weight bearing on his leg. His urine is now clear. What I want to ask is, should I ring the emergency vet, or leave him until Monday and see how he goes?
I would ring the vet immediately and take their advice....purring is not always a sign of happiness in cats...they can do it when in pain
Sorry to hear about your kitten, I second pinklilies, get him straight to the vet's...do you live near a road? Has he got any damage to paws or pads?
Do let us know the outcome, all the best.
I am dubious as to whether he has been in a car accident as we don't live near a road. His claws and paws are undamaged as well, so it would indicate some other accident. He isn't a very friendly cat with people he doesn't know, so don't think he would get close enough to anyone for them to kick him. I guess there is a possiblity he has been shot. I have phoned the vet and am meeting him at the surgery shortley. I will let you know how we get on.

You say he was out all that time, he could have gone for miles and could well have been hit by a car. I dont live near a road but my cat was killed on a road about 3 miles away :(

Mine too Claireys.
Any news on the cat?
Took Pig to the vets yesterday, the vet doesn't think he has been hit by a car, and can find no immediate evidence of any broken bones. He did say that Pigs temperature was very high though, so is treating him with anitbiotics for an infection. He also gave him a painkilling injection. Pig is a bit brighter this morning, there is no blood in his urine and he is wandering around the house whereas yesterday he was in his bed all day. Fingers crossed it is just some sort of infection and nothing more serious.
