just a quick update on Daisy. :)
Daisy is an absolutley cracking dog, she is coping with the move really well, most of the dogs went into boarding kennels during the move, but as daisy wasnt and couldnt be vaccinated she was one of the first dogs to move to Norfolk, bearing in mind we had no idea on what she would be like in a home environment she has coped well, she has had no 'accidents' and enjoys family life. Each day we find something that she is scared of and see a little more of how she survived in that missing year. She is petrified of strange men and it takes a while before she trusts them, but once she does she follows like a lost lamb. She is also scared of children but that is changing every day, once she has met children she is fine but runs when loud noises come from their direction, but she is happy to clear up any mess they make at meal times :D. quite by accident just before we moved we discovered that she is scared of brooms, there were workmen in the lane busy (if they ever are :) ) clearing up the mess they had made when daisy had to go past the sweeping workman she freaked and had i not had hold of her lead properly i may well have lost her.
Just after we moved and just after Daisys dad and entire brother moved to Norfolk Daisy very kindly decided that things were just right for her to come into season, so she had to be crated, there are however crates built under the kitchen work tops, (house used to be a veterinary surgery) So daisy was put into a crate as we dont want little daisys running around, when out with the bitches she stood for them and if they paid her no attention she would make them pay attention :D , then she discovered that she could reach the bin and whislt everyone was busy pulled the bins entire contents into her crate (the crates are made of wooden slats on one side that daisy is able to fit her head through) a bin that was awaiting emptying from the night before chinese and dirty nappies  everything stunk and needed washing including Daisy.
She is learning her manners well but insists on saying goodmorning with all four feet, she did decide that the horses were fun to bark at but after introducing her to an antibark collar (spray not electric) she found it was best not to, we had to stop her barking at the horses as she was spooking them an which in turn entices the others to chase the running horses  not a good idea, obviously with everything she has been through we would have rather not have had to use a collar but we had to think of both the horses and the dogs safety, she now thankfully has no need to wear the collar and completley ignores the horses.
Daisy is to stay with me for the foreseable future unless the 'perfect home' comes along, as that could be some time there are more daisy stories to come :) if you want to see her photos PM, bear with me though as im not yet fully moved in

What a lovely story to wake up to. :) The picture I now have in my head of the kitchen will stay with me for quite a while, I think  :D So glad she is settling in with you. It makes it all worth while, doesn't it? I'd love to see photo's to see how she is getting on. I hope she is looking a lot better now ;) :)
