Hi Guys

Just need a little advice. My Cav was one 3 weeks ago, and has suddenly changed into a demon dog when out walking in the fields.  Her recall has always been very good, and was happy to return for a 'fresh chicken treat'.  Last Friday, I set off for my walk about 3.30pm.   We were about half an hour into our walk, when I saw her dash into another field under the gate (lots of rabbits in this field), I shouted to her to return, but to no avail, she finally returned 1.5 hours later (obviously by then I was stood in the dark field, hubby had now joined me from work). She did return during this period, I think just to check that I was still around, but I was unable to catch her. We were shocked and amazed with this sudden change in behaviour. I am now so scared of letting her off the lead in the fields, and have been walking her around a sports field (no rabbits) and her recall has been fine. She has not been spede yet, would this make a difference.

Please help

If she hasn't had a season, or is due one, then yes this could make a difference. She could also just be reaching the horrid teenage phase. Quite often the 2 go together ;) Watch her closely for blood and keep her confined until it's all over. 3 - 4 weeks in total, depending on the bitch :( ;) I'm still waiting for my 2 year old bitch to come out of the teenage phase. PLEASE, PLEASE BEFORE I GO MAD  :D

My lab is 2.5 but still gives me a v sign every so often (usually when I am due to go out).
