First of All Hi not been on here for ages ! been mega hectic and have gone in to ponies :D  and had alot of health problems
anyways my dog has gone all weird! at Night when I gon to sleep he stands over me and watches me sleep - then he'll watch over me - and if I stir in the night and wake he comes back and stands watching me ...

Does any one elses dog do this and why has he just started?
In December last year I had 3 heart attacks and was away from him for 3 weeks but he never did it then why now ...

I would say he is aware that you have been ill and is a little anxious and is therefore reassuring himself that you are ok.

I think it is lovely he is watching over you :) but I think if you were to wean him away from sleeping in your room you could both get a decent nights sleep which can only be beneficial to you.

Ive always kept him in my room -  hes a bit of a naughty dog when hes in a room alone he tends to tap on the windows - AND as hes a dane Im sscared he'll go through!

He doesnt bother me doing it just wonder why  - I find it sweet hes watching me - plus Im in the middle of moving could he sense something is going on...

Hi Tracy,
Was he there with you during your attacks and was it during the night?

no, every one was in bed  - i collapse in the kitchen - he possibly heard it though    but he probably saw me after being taken by ambulance people. The other times were in the hospital ward and whilst being operated on

I guess he is making sure no one takes you away again.  What a lovely boy.
