When someone comes to the house that Skye knows she gets really excited and wets herself, we have tried keeping her separate until she calms down but it doesnt make any difference. I took her to the vets just incase she had a water infection she doesnt. She is now 11 months will she grow out of this? Any suggestions.

It's submissive urination and it's quite common in young bitches. I have a sheltie who did it until she was about 18 months. Skye will probably grow out of it when she is older.

AHH Bless her! - she sounds really lovely :) :)

She is lovely, except she thinks she is a cat and tries to curl up on your lap. She is so well behaved we are hoping she will become a PAT dog.

my jack russel still does it shes 2 years old :)
My mums dog always did it she used to dance around and spray all over the place and if you got in the way you got a wet foot/leg, she never did grow out of it and she died at the age 16. Not very comforting words are they. Good luck. :-(
My RR pup does it (9 months now), but only when someone he knows really well comes over. We have successfully managed to avoid it by asking people to walk in and totally ignore Earl, no eye contact, no pats - nothing. Only once they're in, sat down and he's settled and laid down do we let them speak to him. It works more often than not......

hiya,
my sbt pup use to do this until she was 6 month old. when somebody came in, we told them to ignore her and not talk to her until she calmed down. After a while she will be calmer when somebody comes in and won't wee everywhere. It worked for us.
Hi. I lost my standard poodle bitch in February this year. She would have been 11 in April this year. She did it all her life. She was often checked at the vets for her urine but was always clear. He said it was a puppy thing she never got out of. If my guests spoke to her and fussed her she would squat straight away. I found getting guests to ignore her at first the best thing. She was terrible for not going to the toilet to wee often and again had her checked out and nothing wrong. Her last wee could have been at 8.30pm and she wouldnt do another till lunch time the next day. She just used to hold it. She wasnt a nervous poodle and was very confident she just did this when people came in the house. She was totally clean in the house and never messed at any time. Good luck!
