Topic Dog Boards / Health / Canine tooth not fallen out

Hi all, I just wondered if this was normal or not...my 7 month old pup still has one of his baby canine teeth as well as his adult one, its kind of just behind the big one. It just looks really strange, and doesn't look like it will ever get pushed out...will it need taking out?

I've seen this several times and on each occassion the puppy tooth has fallen out on its own.

My JD(Cavalier)has all 4 of his baby canines until he was almost 12 months old, lots of very chewy raw bones eventually got rid of them just before his birthday(lol he had been promised a trip to the vets on his birthday if they were still there)

my gsd bitch had this with both her baby teeth retained so i took her to the vet who said they would never fall out on their own:eek:,so i booked her into the vets to have them removed (£200) but on the morning of the appointment she was chewing something and i found both teeth on the floor so cancelled the appointment:cool:
