I have a Flat Coat and a Golden and both have been insured from pups by M&S, they were very reasonably priced and there was no excess for my area.

I have just had renewal for my Flat Coat and they have put it up by £76 and put the excess from £0 to £50.  I was very annoyed about this.

I can't decide whether to pay it anyway or try to find somewhere cheaper or just put the money away for if they need treatment.

What do you think?

Hi :)  There has been lots of discussion about the increase in M&S pet insurance premiums - do a search on pet insurance and you'll find them.

We use MoreThan & have so far had no problems at all with them, which is great considering they've paid out nearly £3000 so far for Mol's treatment.  They also only increased a renewal by £1!!!  Only gripe though is excess is £75 or 15% whichever is the greater & you pay it every time you claim even if it is ongoing...

Your lucky!!
My insurance for one of the girls is increasing by £10 per month as of next month....
I'm with MoreThan..for the moment.

I have one of the dogs insured with More Than and they took two lots of excess out of my claim, for the same ongoing treatment, because they said it spanned my renewal date.  Next time my dog is ill I will make sure it is ill in plenty of time to get paid before the end of the year or make it last until the beginning of a new one - I don't think.  Out of my £162.80 vet bill they paid me £2.80.

Guess who is saving up from now on.
