I can any one help?
It appears that my 7 mth old CKCS has Fly catcher syndrome. He will sit and try and catch flys that aint there. I have spoken to his vet and she said it's a bit like OSD in humans, and the best way to stop it is through clicker training.
Have you come across this and manged to stop your dog doing it?
Thank you for any help.

This can at times in Cavaliers be a symptom of Syringomyelia, might be worth having your dog MRI scanned. I have some links somewhere about both SM and flycatchers in cavaliers, I'll see if I can dig them out later -got to go now.

Thank you for the links, I had already read both of them. Not sure what to do. Should I do what the vet says and try clicker training, or should I push the vet for a MRI scan?

My 9 yr does this. However she's a bit slow now, and isn't able to catch them. LOL

Don't know why she does it, I assume that she's just a nutter!!

Wow, if I hadn't read it here (and I checked the link) I would have thought this was some kind of joke.  I have learned so many things about our pooches potential failings on this web-site.  Actually, it's scary all the strange things they can get.  Hope your pooch is OK.
