last night harry was running round and ran into the door frame and cried at once holding her leg up, i thought she had a dead leg , when we got up this morning she was not as lame but not her self so i took her to the vet and he gave her metacam and said not to worry .She is only 5 months old and we have allso got a 12 week old pup she plays with but all day since ive been home with her she is not playing just moping around. i think she might have a little bone broken in her leg or something like that but the vet has made me feel as though im over reacting , as she was not very lame in there as she was nervouse of him. what would you lot do go back tomorrow if she is not any better or go back after the weekend. she is eating and drinking.

I'd get a second opinion if you are not confident with your vet.  Obviously you don't feel that you can question him so maybe it would be best to change vets, either in the same practice or a different practice.

Did the vet advise you about resting her? How long has she got to take the metacam for and did he say exactly what was wrong?
If he/she hasn't answered these questions then you need to go back and ask them and get the answers!

If your dog is lame then she needs to rest, don't let her use the stairs or jump onto furniture, I know it can be difficult with a puppy but it is important.

Definitley go back tomorrow if she is no better!

Good luck and let us know how she gets on.

I'd leave it a few days with cage rest if it was my dog.  It's not going to heal in a day or two if it was quite a bang.  I fell off my bike 3 months ago and only now can I kneel down because the bruising inside must have been that bad.
