Went down to the doctors on Monday afternoon - I'd felt groggy, very lethargic and generally like a dying duck in a thunderstorm all over the weekend, and felt that I should get things check out.

What a shocker!    The doctor refused to let me drive home - and sent me packing to the local hospital (after negotiation, by friend's car, after being assured that I would Go Straight to Hospital & Not pass Go 1st) - who were expecting me.   I was wired up to ECG, bloods taken, Xray (portable one ) - and kept under observation for a couple of hours.     Xrays fine, ECG fine, BP "slightly high" but bloods showing that I have an infection & slightly raised clotting levels - so I've been sent home, to BED REST for 7 days & amoxcyllin 1000g x 4 for 7 days.

Apparently I have a viral infection that could (they stressed the could) affect something around the heart - lining?  Can't be muscle, cause that's what the heart is.

So I've just sneaked down to make a cup of coffee  & see what's going on - so won't be on much during the next week!

Rotten luck Margot :(  On the plus side at least you went to your GP and he moved promptly with the hospital.

Make sure you do make good use of that bed rest and the horse sized doze of drugs    I had a similar sounding problem some years ago and although it wasn't much fun (would I listen to Docs advice  ) I made a full recovery - eventually!  Just as well it was in my pre-CD days :D

Get well soon!  Teri x

Take care of yourself won't you,
