Morning peeps, I would love to buy a cuckoo clock clock and I know they are a few on Ebay but I was wondering if any of you lovely ladies or gentlemen know of anywhere else that sells them?

Many thanks in advance.

They're usually for sale in jewellers' shops which also sell clocks.

I agree, particularly the good old time jewellers, they sell well made cuckoo clocks not those horrible plastic ones, (apologise to anyone who has one of those, just not my cup of tea)  they don't come cheap though.

What do you want a cuckoo clock for? Eurgh...I cant think of anything more annoying than something banging every hours going 'wakey wakey'....oh sorry I think thats the iron bru advert.......

I have a chiming clock that my parents brought me for my 21st birthday and i love it (although most of my neighbours don't ) I never notice it chiming (every half hour) and it never keeps me awake at night. I love my clock and it is the first thing that gets placed when we move house :-)   I agree about the jewellers because thats where mine came from and our local branch of F.Hinds  sells clocks. So pop in and see if they have them in there.

I inherited a chiming clock from my nan when she died, thankfully both clock and chime has to be wound up to work.....the clock is great, but the chime has never been wound up!!  It took me a while to get used to the tick tock of the clock, so decided against the noisy chimes too!   Lovely old clock though :)

I have a Cluckcoo clock which makes a chicken noise and has a hen that pops out on the hour - the makers also do a pig/cow and sheep one - :D :D :D

My uncle has a cuckoo clock that used to terrify me as a child :D, dont know what it was about it.  He still has it though so it just proves they last well.

I know someone with the most fantastic cuckoo clock :)  They got it from Bavarian shopping mall.  All the Cuckoo clocks in this country were awful, battery operated and recorded cuckoos and plastic wood  unless you paid a few pounds.  But they imported one from Germany for a fraction of that and its the biz :D :D :D

Aawww many thanks for the link Dill.  About 10 minutes before logging onto Champ Dogs I managed to buy one off Ebay.  It is from the Black Forrest in Germany and the chap that sells them buys them off a company who carves them.  When this company make the clocks, if there is anything wrong with them this chap buys them as he is interested in the mechanisms of the clocks so he fixes them and sells them.  It is absolutely gorgeous - OH absolutely hates them but he works away fortunately!

Many thanks for all your replies.
