our lab Inkie sometimes is sick after eating her food and then eats it again.  Is this normal??  She is fed on Pal canned food and biscuit mixer, two small meals each day.  Also she is eating the plums that fall from our tree in the garden and sicks up the stones. As with all labs she eats disgusting stuff when we're out for a walk but that doesnt seem to have an effect.

It's quite a revolting, normal habit for dogs :D :D Usually just means that they have gulped their food down too quickly :D :D Saves clearing up :D :D

:D yep quite normal for Labs... assuming there is no underlying cause for the sickness in the 1st place, although if eaten again  straight away, would indicate not....   My Emma is a habitual regurgitator, but rarely gets to re-claim her fallout...Tia has mastered the art of 'catch'  before it hits the deck :D :P

When you say she's being sick. Is she vomiting or is she re-gurgitating. When dogs vomit, they wretch beforehand. When they re-gurgitate they don't wretch, it just pops out. If she is re-gurgitating then I wouldn't worry.

I'd watch the intake of Plum pits and try to limit that.  And plums too, great for bringing on diarrhea if too many are eaten.  If my Lab, Jet, doesn't get to the barf first I have to run out and keep one of the cats away.

Poj views being sick as the ideal opportunity for a second dinner - yum yum

Lots of plums make for very smelly bottom burps

Now if that was a dog of mine, I would be worrying about lots of different throat problems that it could be, especially if it was regurgitation of food, such as mega-oesophagus, cricopharyngeal achalesia etc. but there again I'm a born worrier :d

Now, when the cat's sick - that is like a feast day, yummo.  My Mum even calls her dog over if the cat is sick to save her the bother of cleaning up:rolleyes:
