Just wondering if anyone went to the evening show at Newark last night.   Wow, what a late one.  I stayed for the hound group judging which finished at 10.15pm but the gundog group was still in mid swing and then BIS to follow.  Goodness knows what time the poor committee members and judges eventually finished.

was it a big entry or slow judging?

It wasn't a particular big show - just 154 class but I think the entries were reasonable.  But, on the other hand the judge before us took 2 hours to judge just 35 dogs which IMO (but I could be wrong) does seem a little slow plus the stopping between breeds to re-apply lipstick probably wasn't necessary :)

I  was there, we were scheduled to be last in ring 5, but it called over the tannoy that we had changed rings to go inside. The floor was slippy and uneven, and I think my dog was slightly unsettled by the slight echo-y noises. Even so we didn't get in the ring till 8.30pm, I didn't stay till the end. It would have been far too late.

I did the show last year, and got through to BIS & BPIS and even then we got away at a reasonable hour. It wasn't that big a show last night, but watching some of the other breeds, I thought some judging was a bit slow. But it's easy to say that as an 'outside' judge. Maybe some of the judges were doing it for the first time? I don't know

I was judging and it was about 8.45 when we got in the ring.  By the time I declared my BOB, it was nearly dark!!  Not easy with black dogs!
I stayed for the gundog group (infact the puppy group was judged at the same time as BIS), it was worth staying as my BP got 3rd in the puppy group. :)
