Does anyone have recommendations for pedigree software / have any experience of putting a breed database online?

Pedigree software for keeping a database of dogs within a breed, Breed Mate! Thats what I use for my Labradors and I also know that someone else on the board uses it for her Dobe's :)

Hi John & Phil, thanks! I 've been looking at breedmate because it links into Alfirin TechnologiesWeb Pedigree Generator. My deerhound records are fairly complete for the UK, and I'd like to put them online.

out of interest, can you tell me the breeding behind Ardingklas Odin?

Hi Sam, I haven't got an Ardkinglas Odin in my records. I thought they were fairly complete, but there were so many Ardkinglas dogs bred I've probably missed some. The only Odins I've got are Intershare Odin & Killoeter Odin. Miss Noble used the alphabet faithfully and I have dogs from three different Ardkinglas 'O' littters. That's probably as many 'O' litters as there were, so if you know roughly when Ardkinglas Odin was born I can probably work out the pedigree from a sibling.

he is alive now, but thats all I know. maybe that will narrow it down assuming it took her 20 odd years to get around to 'O' again???

Sam, I've got a record of three Ardkinglas 'O' litters, only one of which where some could still be alive. They were born 23/03/90 by Ch Stranwith Jago out of Ch Ardkinglas Val. There might be a 4th 'O' litter than I don't have a record of, but I doubt it. If you think the dog you are looking for could be from the Jago x Val litter I can e-mail you a full pedigree, and I'm sure that I have photos of both Jago and Val somehwere if you're interested.

I think it is an excellent product which is getting better all the time, and having an email list where users can help each other out is also a very useful idea.

Hi, I have breed mate and cannot work out how to use the darn thing. Completely stumped. I am no great shakes on a pc but can usua;;y work out how to do things eventually, but not this one. PLease could someone direct me to the email/help forum addy's for it? Thanks.

Yes, you can add photos to a pedigree and very nice they look too!
