Hi, my 2 1/2 year old St Bernard has lost her coat big time, probably because it's been so hot recently. She now looks like a smooth coat saint instead of a rough. Her coat also looks very dull now, it used to have a great shine on it. Any tips on getting the shine back, she's entered in the Munster Circuit, so i need a quick fix.

Typical eh! I usually find just brushing the old coat out as much as possible, even several times a day and bathing them often while moulting is the quickest way to a shiny coat. There are of course many, many coat preparations and feed additives but I haven't found one that I would swear works to be honest! No harm in putting cod liver oil in her feed though :)

Patience I'm afraid and you'll probably find you're not the only one with a bald dog, if your dog has dropped her coat you can bet a lot of others have too!

I wouldn't give her CLO but I'd opt for either Salmon Oil/Evening primrose oil along with Royal Jelly capsules (fresh RJ if you can get it).  If you are prepared to shampoo her a couple of times a week in Quistel shampoo, then I can recommend that too.

She usually get's a sardine soaked in olive oil anyway. The shine looks to be coming back slowly but her tail looks awful. They normaly have big bushey tails but now it just looks tiny.
