My 2 paps are licky dogs but it's nothing I can't cope with (and they're getting better as they mature). However my daughter's 8 month old kelpie is impossible. He's a very slobbery dog at the best of times so his licks are always wet and sticky. He'll lick any part of anyone who gets close enough, constantly. For a bright, trainable dog, he seems impossible to train out of this yukky habit. Any suggestions anyone? I could add that covering ourselves with Tiger Balm works well but it's hardly practical, plus it could work out expensive! lol.
This is a behavioural emotional need, so you really need to address why she feels the need to lick so much.
By using things to prevent her you might make her do something even more worrying like self mutilation or excessive licking.
It is usually a gesture of affection. Now I don't like licking (except my feet, but that's another thread ) and i gently discourage it by asking for an alternative behaviour.
