I thought a bit of light relief for a Friday might be in order .. so what are the funniest things your dogs have done or that have happened around your dogs?
When I first moved to my new house, and Floyd was intrigued by the washing line, I found him one day running around with one of my G-Strings in his mouth, giving the whole neighbourhood a laugh no doubt.
Then there was the one where OH had spent hours running a TV arial through the house, leaving (why?) a loose end in the garden - which Floyd pulled and unravelled the whole lot!
come on! I bet you have funnier ones than me ...

One of the funniest moments we ever had with Glazby was one Christmas Day round at OH's parents having lunch.  Dinner had been eaten and OH's Mum came through with the Christmas Pudding.  Glazby took an instant dislike to the pudding (no idea why) and was barking and barking at it.  We then called him over to show him that it was okay but he refused to come near it - he would get so far and then stop and back away barking again!!

He eventually came over and jumped onto one of the spare chairs at the table and got quite up close to it but still giving little rumbly growls bless him!!

I've no idea what the pudding had done but it was hilarious!!!

Another funny moment was when we had first bought him - he'd managed to open a cupboard in our old house while we were out and had tipped over a bag of flour.  Came home to find flour everywhere and our red boxer had turned white!!

Last christmas I was sat facing the wall in the corner of the dining room (setting up a small crimbo tree).  I'd just laid the tablecloths, but there wasn't anything else on there.  I was sat there for a good 5 minutes sorting the tree, and I looked around for some reason - to find a huge brown nose inches from my face!

Darling Remy had somehow climbed silently onto the table and settled down, and was quietly watching what I was doing :D

Oh, sometimes Floyd will silently appear at the kitchen window, standing on back legs to have a look at us. Normally this is quite sweet, but when you feel you are being watched and turn around to see him there intently watching you, sometimes I think its a bit sinister and feel like there should be some creepy music playing in the background!

When we were teenagers we lived with a Cairn Terrier.  She was delightful and such fun :)    One day she was watching enviously as we all had some lemonade (a rare treat in our house ;) )  and we thought she might like some, so we put a little in her water bowl.  When she went to drink it the bubbles or fizz must have tickled her nose.   She went bouncing round madly barking at the bowl (as only a Cairn can :D ) then raced around the house then back to the bowl for some more and a repeat performance.  After that she'd beg for lemonade if the bottle appeared in the house and give the same performance every time :D :D :D

Watching Nips do his expert pickpocketing cracks me up every time! It always follows my OH telling him that he can't have some completely unsuitable item (his specs usually!) and he'll give in, apparently, very gracefully. A moment or so later he'll very delicately insert his nose into the OH's pocket and without him noticing, remove his handkerchief which (if I haven't caught him in the act) is then shredded on the carpet. The shredding accompanied by a wicked look and what I call his "norty ear" pricked up.

My present dog is an excellent pocket picker too.   My first dog - an Irish Setter, once saw a rabbit in the field.  She froze and the rabbit froze.  I don't know who moved first but they both turned tail and ran away from each other!!!  Don't know who was the most afraid.

Until a year or two ago, we had a tall boy under the stairs in the hall. Bramble liked to get a small ball, lie in front of the chest and roll the ball, with his nose, under the chest. He then would have to come and get us to rescue the ball :) Then the whole process was repeated until he, or we, gave up :D :D :D I miss his little game :D :D

Ellie does something similar with our coffee table - she comes over to us and gives these little frustrated squeaky growl/barks until we come and fish it out for her. Hopefully the new table is a little higher so it won't get stuck! :-D

Well this is what my cat used to do and from the dog's point of view I guess it really isn't funny, but....
Cat used to lie down close to the fence separating our driveway from the neighbours, stick her front feet under and wiggle them.  Neighbour's dog would come over to investigate, cat would grab her nose and the dog would yelp and leap away.  Game over till next time.  The poor dog never learned to leave those little black wiggling feet alone.

Amber goes potty and then runs to the kitchen to get her bit of cheese from the fridge (now we have cut them the size of a pea!) Sometimes she even pretends she has done something (assume the position but nothing comes out) so we just give her a big cuddle and tell her to try again later.

When we go in the lounge and we tell her to stay. She crawls slowly (flat on her tummy) and when we spot her she puts her front paws over her eyes as if we wouldn't see her. Have you heard of cartoon puppies? Well we have one...

Expensive toys!! No, last week Amber decided that hubby and daughter's socks are much more fun! Result we have a collection of socks in our once beautiful garden (this combine with her own settee and tree trunk etc... It's a sight!!)

We also have a shrub (like a big bonsai tree). One morning we looked for Amber everywhere and she was hiding underneath it. I had to give it a big trim as I didn't want pup to get hurt. 2 weeks later she prefers to be on top of it!!!

Her website will be up tonight... So you will SEE what I mean.

Great post Floyds Mum!! Thank you :-D

I was recently working one of my Labs in the dog paddock when a hawk flew over with a baby rabbit in its talons. It was obviously distracted by the activity below, and dropped the rabbit right in front of my dogs nose. She now thinks the god of labradors has singled her out for special attention and spends a great part of the day staring into the sky, waiting for more manna from heaven!

My pup has just started to dunk her head up to her ears in the watering can (old fashioned metal type)!  The first time she did it I thought it was a mistake but she dunked herself 5 times in quick succession and then ran around the garden like something possessed.  Hilarious :D
