
Just spent a few days camping in North Yorkshire. It wasn't any trickier than being at home really. Walking was done at dawn and dusk and dog was positioned
outside the tent on the shaded side during the day. We have a canvassed topped Landrover that was cool enough for short trips out but, just like being at home, there were some limitations on when, where and how long we could safely park up. I suppose the biggest difference is the dog has to go everywhere with us as she could not be left in the tent during the day but then I never do that on camping trips because of her security.
Not sure what sort of camping you mean but a plentiful supply of ice and frozen mats are not on option under canvas :)
