Topic Dog Boards / Behaviour / Cystitis ?

Wondering if she has cystitis - since mid afternoon have noticed her running around, dribbling a bit and sitting down suddenly - then scoots off, goes around in circles, tries to wee again, perhaps a dribble and flops down.
Just had her out for a walk and could see the odd dribble as she walked. She hasn't done anything in the house, but the door has been open all day.

Sorry - posted this wrongly - meant to put in 'Health'

Sounds like it could be.  Do you have any cranberry juice or tablets that you can give her?  My vet suggested that for my poor boy when he had cystitis.  You could give her lots to drink - I gave my boy milky drinks as milk doesn't upset him - it might help to reduce the burning sensation til you can get your poor girl to the vet tomorrow.

Thanks.
I don't have any cranberry juice etc. She did have a big drink earlier as she loves drinking from the hosepipe, and she's been sleeping since just after I posted the message.
I had cystitis once and remember how painful it was. Will have to watch her when she wakes up and see if she's still uncomfortable.

Are oats soothing ? She still likes a little porridge for supper, so will get milk with that.

She hasn't finished her main meals today either, but just had a feverish & bad two days with a tooth coming out (she's 21 weeks old) so I thought it was sore gums making her reluctant to eat the JWB.

If it's the same in the morning I'll get her to the vet.

I had this problem some times she'd wee at night, but, she would not drink much, so I took her to the vets, didn't want it to get to her kidneys, she was given antibotics.

Luckily got an appointment with our vet - It is cystitis:she's had a rather nasty jab and tablet antibiotics, and she should be fine within a day or so.

Apparently - as we'd noticed with her - young dogs tend to squat awkwardly sometimes, wander off before they're finished, or sit down on the same spot after a wee.
This causes bacteria to gather and results in cystitis - quite common he says in younger dogs.
I have been washing her down every few days, since we got her,  but we've got Malaseb now to wash her with each day in that area - hope she learns to do it properly soon!

Thanks Maria! - still restless & dribbling, but not as bad :)
