Should a pup really be having puppy food? I only ask this as I was reading on a CKCS board ( my pup is CKCS) and someone on there said you shouldn't feed a pup on puppy food as it makes them grow to fast.
My pup has Eukanuba puppy food for small breeds.

i'm not a nutritionist and I dont have a CKCS but I did feed my dog the puppy version of JWB when he was little and I see no evidence of it doing him any harm at all. For sure, his growth rate was perfectly normal and we never had any stomach upsets either. I'm a great believer in feeding dogs what suits them and judging that by their general condition.

The general consensus is not to feed puppy food to large breed pups ,they should either go on lge breed puppy food or straight onto adult food.Small and medium breeds are fine on puppy foods,as you feed euk small breed you obviously have a smaller breed and dont have to worry :)

I agree a large breed with so much growth potential its an important factor but i wouldnt see it affecting a small breed in such a way as ours.

I fed my dobe on usual puppy food (did change to large breed for a bit but they only stocked chicken and he didn't like it!) so we carried on with rice and Lamb, he is just perfect in height etc although not fully mature in body yet (and mind come to think of it :-D) I would just see how things go.
