If you entered pedigree classes at a companion show would you expect a nortern inuit/utonagon etc to be allowed into the pedigree classes and if it was how would you feel about it?

No, Northern Inuits and Utonagans aren't recognised breeds and so should only be allowed in the novelty classes.

does it matter?
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 12.07.06 07:40 UTC
It depends if you think rules are for obeying or breaking.

If it didn't matter what is the point in having pedigree classes, and judging to breed standards?
- By Brainless [gb] Date 12.07.06 07:56 UTC
Agree.  After all in theory you are judging dogs to the Kennel Club breed standard and there isn't one.  Companion shows are run under KC rules.

The above replies are right, no they can't be shown in the pedigree classes.  Oh and yes it does matter, rules are rules.

Funny how so many of you seem to think companionships show rules shouldn't matter, hope you don't feel the same regarding rules in other things in life.

Oh by the way, as I have  a rare breed I know how frustrating this is, especially when at any other show we can't go in for BIS, RBIS or aany of the stakes classes !!!!

Yep these shows are for charity but is it fair for people like me who obey rules for others just to flaunt them?

I have to say I've always loved going to companionship shows.
