Hi
The free samples of Arden Grange Prestige arrived this morning, 2 x 100g bags. For my Cavaliers size it says to feed (weight of dog 5-10kg to feed 81-128gms of food per day)
She has a poor appitite and I think all the problems I have had in the past has made her nervous of meal times, I only feed her once a day.
I would appreciate any suggestions of how to introduce this food and get her to eat it.
She weighs 6.6kg should I be starting her off on the bottom end of the amounts?
Lots of people on here mix things in with the dry food such as cheese or cooked meat, any suggestions please, thanks.

In my expereince you need to feed less than the actual amount for the dogs size.

When I fed my 17-18kg bitch AG prestige she got 150 - 175g.

You will probably find your girl fine on 75 - 100g.

If she eats 50g I would be happy.  In fact I would give her just fifty for four days and if that is under what she needs it will pique her appetite.

The amounts suggested are for dogs weighting 5 to 10kg, so the lower amount is for the 5kg dog and the upper for the 10kg dog.

I would add nothing to this already rich food, as it ahs 20% fat.

Just put my Cavalier on Arden Grange Prestige a week ago after excellent advice from a member on these boards.
He wouldn't eat anything before - very, very picky and only ate if he was starved into doing so.
ANY new food would only be picked at once or twice.....BUT......
The Arden Grange has been a MAJOR turning point!
Mealtimes are now a pleasure - my CKCS is now bouncing around when it's feed time, head straight in the bowl - none of this sniffing and walking away business!! - and there's never a kibble left behind!
He looks so much more healthy and his coat is glossier already - in only a week!
He's a different dog! I couldn't recommend this food for fussy dogs highly enough!
He weighs 7kg and I'm feeding him 100g a day.

I think you may find he will put on weight on that amount and need to cut back at some point, may be wrong of course as little dogs seem to have different metabolisms, but I would watch the weight carefully as it is a very nutrient dense food.

I only hope my girl eats it like that, she has had a tired day today as she is in her second season.
Do you think I should give her a full quantity straight away or mix it with the pedigree small dog complete that she has been on.

I would mix it for a day or two starting with half and half then if her toilet is fine, 3/4 of the new and then all new.

What are the k/cals per cup of the Prestige?

The manufacturers will let you have the full analysis, as it isn't on the website, but I am pretty sure it is or was in the literature.
