Not entirely sure the spelling is correct, but a few years ago now I used some green oils (mainly horse related) made by a company called Pettifers. I can't find it anywhere now. It was a wonderful oils, for horses dogs and humans, a real 'cure all'. Does anyone know if it still exists?

I dont flipping believe this :) :) I have searched everywhere, and the local saddler (old fashioned type) and we couldnt find it, all he could say was that they no longer do it since the EEC changed regs as to what goes in things (didnt understand that) I am overjoyed, and indebted isabel! you have made my day, its wonderful for artheritis (spelling gulp) bruises etc.......humans never mind dogs/horses etc :D I tried searching it on net with no luck......must improve my searching tech ;)

I knew carbolic was an excellent antiseptic but I never knew about the arthritis relief ;)

Yep, when rubbed into the shoulders or back it gives wonderful relief, and for bruises that 'need to come out' I have used it countless times in my youth for a kick on the leg (mine or horses ;) ) and if the foot has been stomped on ...oh all sorts of things, never mind for mud rash, saddle sores etc. I really called it my 'cure all' :D and only Pettifers would do!! ;)
edited to say.....that and epsom salts, in the bath (never mind all the reasons ;) ) as a salt wash for bites, cuts etc, inhale for throat probs....my little natural cure alls ;) )

oooh calmstorm you've brought back some fond memories for me. I'm sitting at my desk in the office (I am working - honest) and I can almost smell the smell of green oils. I expect only someone who has had horses can say it smells lovely LOL it is quite distinctive!! I might have to buy a tub - if only to have a smell of it.

Mmmmmmmm it does have a ...distinctive odour all of its own...but I love it:)
