Topic Dog Boards / Health / Tummy bug/season - help please

Hi, my TT is having her first season and she is on day 9 from when I first spotted the bleeding. She had a large runny stool last night and then has been sick a few times since.

Could it be connected with her season?

She had a natures menu frozen (I defrosted it) barf mix on Friday which she has never had before and then some tripe with JWB on Sat which she has had before with no probs.

How long do I let it go on with no intervention? i.e taking her to the vets.

Do I offer her her JWB dry food today?

My dog had diarrhoea 2 weeks ago and was very lethargic as well.  She was unwell for about 3 days.  The first day she was just lethargic and I put it down to the heat but the next day she was squitting all day, thank goodness the door was permanently open    I starved her that night and the next day.  By the 3rd day's evening I just gave her boiled rice and then the next day rice with some of her normal JWB.  She was fine by then.

I think when dogs have upset stomachs you should starve them for 24 hours and ensure they drink plenty of water so that they don't dehyrdrate.  If they are no better by then I would visit the vet.

Thanks for reply! Tatty has had some rice and chicken at lunchtime and kept it down and no more runny poo so hoping it was just ones of those things! :)
