Topic Dog Boards / Health / Fur loss

Now I know it been warm recently but today I have managed to hoover nearly an entire dog up from my carpets not to mention what came out when brushing him. So I just wondered whether fur loss could be an indicator of some illness. My WSD is 9.5 yrs old very happy and healthy (he still does competitive agility), bounding around happy but dropping fur like never before! but he doesn't look like he has lost loads but he has. Do you thing I should get him checked over or is it just the weather?

Entire male dogs may only have a full scale moult every second or third year, so this may be what he is doing.
