Could someone tell me the reasons why the kennel club would block a registration and is a blocked registration permanent? I'm trying to find info on this at the KC but so far no joy

could someone point me in the right direction please.

A dog and it's progeny can be 'banned' by the Kennel club if it bites someone at a show.
Or are you referring to the endorsements commonly put on puppies registrations by responsible breeders? these are progeny not eligible for registration and not eligible for an export pedigree.

A registration can be blocked if the mother is over 8 years of age, has bred more than 6 litters or if it's a registered breeder they cannot have a litter of pups from the same bitch in a 12 month time period. if this is what you are querying?

I am trying to work out perrodeogua why the KC would allow one pup from a litter to be registered but not allow another pup from the same litter to be registered.
Is this a litter that you have bred? Have the KC just rejected the choice of names for that pup perhaps?

Or is it something you have been told by another breeder who doesn't want to explain why they haven't registered all of their litter but only the ones they want to register?

Was there doubt about who/what sired the litter? Has the litter been DNA-tested? This would be cause for blocking registration of a part-litter.

If that's what the breeder is telling you I'd be a bit suspicious!
Can you give us the full history behind this, as you can see there are many reasons, but without the full background it is hard to decifer which reason and whether we can advise a way around it for you.

I think a lot of the story can be found
here but it is very confusing.

Katt - the KC processes the registration forms received. If one pup has been registered and another has not, then that is what the breeder applied for. However, in the previous thread you said the pup you say is from the same litter as yours is a month older - now clearly this cannot be the case - so the pup that they have registered is not from the same litter as your pup.
Is there any reason you want the pup to be KC registered? I think you should point your wrath at the breeder, a solicitors letter might help.

Bazb this was the Dam's first litter, it has been proven that my pup is from the same litter the breeder admitted to local authorities and trading standards (they have seen paper work) that he made a mistake (he said it was a mistake we all know it was a lie) on pedigree certificate on DOB he admitted he misled us. We want all that was promised to us our anger is pointed at the breeder and this is why we are going down the route we have. We will not let go of this he should not sell sick puppies and lie.

It can all come across confusing but it is not as confusing as some may think Isabel. DNA testing will be done soon so we will know the entire truth. It has got to the stage where promises are being made to the authorities or the case enters court we will also be taking separate action no way in this land are we allowing this breeder to get away with what he has. I just couldn't work out how one pup was allowed to be registered yet another from same litter but someone kindly explained to me last night :)

I'm glad it is being clearer to you what happened and hope you get redress from the breeder. I can't really see the the KC
knowingly letting someone pull a fast one :)

I hope the KC deal with him all authorities have said that this breeder has "sailed close to the wind" and that they have been awaiting the day to catch him. Maybe now they have finally caught him
All I can say, is well done katt, you keep going because its people like you that stick to it that sort out the wheat from the chaff! Sailing close to the wind, and going on a reputation with dogs that may make some give in to his suposed superiority, makes it a tough fight for you, but hopefully he will be exposed and any funny business exposed. Wonder how many others there have been that simply havnt the will power of you to follow through. Thats where hes been getting away with it I imagine. Good Luck...hope the 'puppy' is grown and well now?

Thank you calmstorm.
Our puppy is doing much better he is very small and we are trying to put weight on him its difficult to do so as when we give him more food his stomach can not handle this.... it's a slow process. We are also attempting to boost is immune system as his immunity is very low he has good and bad days, it's a tough ride for him but he is a fighter with all he's been through he loves everyone and will do anything to please another as long as he fights we will help him :)
