Does anybody have any experience of this condition? 

I know what it is, I would like info on what happens when they have surgery, who does the surgery i.e specialist or general Vet, does it cost hundreds or thousands of £££££ etc, effect on the bitch after, for instance,long term success or not? and anything else you can think of ;)

You would want a specialist vet (via referal) to do the surgery. Often the op will be a complete success & there will be no further problems.
However sometimes there can still be problems with leaking urine (but not as bad as pre-op), this can usually be controlled by drugs ie propalin. & regarding expense, yes very expensive.
