My niece recently used my ebay account to buy some trainers. I paid for it using my paypal and the money cleared on the 6th June. As of yet I have had no communication from the person and no trainers! Ive now had to file a claim against them becuase Im worried he/she has legged it with my niece's money!!
Just wanted to come and have a rant on here because Im quickly losing faith in ebay!!

Sorry to hear that. I must say, I've had nothing but good service from buyers and sellers and have had nothing to complain about. What was the sellers feedback like ?. Maybe they've gone on holiday for a couple of weeks .

Yeah i did think that maybe they've gone on holiday because their feedback is 100% (95 positives) and they havent had any transactions since mine so Im not sure what to do. If I was going away id leave them a note to say I'd send it after the....June once I was back or whatever. Im a little paranoid about it but you cant trust people nowadays!
I had a problem with a seller and didn't rec. the goods and they had a good rating and still sell today. Paypal were really good and quick (as it's them that you have to go through and not e-bay) and the money was refunded except for the price of mailing the item!
Five weeks later guess what turned up in the post? I was never re-charged so I got the top for £12 cheaper than the original price :d

lol, Serves him right!

It might have been the posts fault, Tracey. I presume you let them know Spanish and that they just didn't bother collecting the fee again :)
Ohhh of course I did, NOT :d No-one ever chased me up again and as I say I had paid for it but never rec'd. it. It was a surprise when rec'd. I did give them a good message though when rec'd!

Another possible is computer problems. You can't do much more than report it but if you paid by Paypal and creditcard you should be protected.
Have you tried to contact the seller Tracey? Just wondered, its a bit odd sounding when they seem to have come to a full stop. I would hazzard a guess at maybe personal problems (after all, I think a lot of sellers are not a business, so family things can get in the way) or PC problems. We all know how iffy PCs can be, and almost guarenteed to 'go down' at a time we most need them!

We had a mega problem with goods not received after payment through paypal. Ebay froze the chaps account as there were other problems as well and said not to worry about our money as we would get it back. Didn't hear anything for a week and when we contacted them again they had unfrozen his account so he took the money out and we never did get the goods. Paypal gave us back £120 but charged £30 costs for it and we lost the other £350. Would never buy anything expensive on there ever again.

Oh, that doesnt give me much hope. Yes I have tried to contact him. I wouldnt just go straight to paypal and report him. Its because he hasnt replied that Ive taken this up. He has 30 days to respond so if he is on holiday he'll be able to sort it within that time surely.
Also a big tip, if the seller ask's you to close the dipute, DON'T. you wouldn't be able to open it again should aything go wrong. If the seller can't give a tracking number to Paypal you will win the dispute.
How long have you been waiting?? When my grandad died we had sold some phones, and didn't get round to looking at the computer for weeks, as other things took priority. You never know and with them having such good feedback it would be unusual if they were trying to con you.
So far we've bought 3 things on ebay and had problems with 2 of them - not a very good record. We did lose around £30 but had a separate £15 or so refunded, still, it does put you off.
I was going to get a treadmill (for myself, not the dog

:P) off ebay but decided against it. I just don't trust 'em now.

Hi lindsay,
I think you must have just had bad luck as i have a record of 111 items(some not had feedback for) and only ever had 1 problem and that was for some transfer paper that cost £3 that I never received but for £3 I never bothered following it up....

Ok, just to update you...
I got home last night....and there was a parcel....with the item in it!
I feel stupid now but what I cant understand is why they didnt just send me an email in the first place to say they were sending it, would have saved all this hassle!!
Very true :D At least you have it now :)

I think communication is key isn't it! It takes less than 2 minutes to send a despatch notification as the templates are all set up!
Glad you got your item though! :)
Hi, I think you are probably quite right, my OH says I am too cautious but I have been burnt now!!!

However I am sure we will still buy off them in the future ... but just not for a while...
