Mine love ice cubes in the summer. We have one of those fridges that has the ice cube thing on it and they will go and press it when they fancy some. I didn't teach them to do it they just watched us! Hasn't done mine any harm.
My dogs have ice cubes every night, usually 2. They are not happy chappies if they don't get their ice cubes! It makes life easier on hot days too as sometimes they don't want to drink water but i can give them ice cubes.

ice cubes are the cheapest fun a pup can have! plus they are very soothing to little sore teething gums as mentioned already. nips has never grown out of his ice cube habit and now the summer has arrived, often chases his ice cubes out into the garden. unfortunately he hasn't worked out that the sun makes them melt quickly and he keeps turning back to find a puddle of water where he knew he'd left an ice cube!
Same here, we have an ice-cube making machine, as soon as the ice hits the glass all the dogs sit and wait.....lol... shame you can't get a drink in peace though! ;)
Mine both love ice cubes. Unfortunately they don't 'agree' with molly - she swallows it whole and brings it straight back up - along with her food  even crushed they are too cold for her tummy :(
