We have now had Charlie a week, he is a Cavelier pup. He is feed on the same food as the breeder gave us (EUKANUBA puppy). The problem is his poo's. 1st thing in the morning he's poo's are fine (hard'ish), from about 10/11am onwards he gets very 'lose' (looks like cow poo). What can I do to help him stay hard???
He has seen the vet's when we 1st brought him home and to have his Jab.
Help us please!!!!!

Have you altered the amount you're feeding him?  How many meals does he get a day and are they all the same size?   Pups tums are easily upset by slight adjustments to their diet and the fact that you have only had him a week suggests that possibly the change in water (if not bought locally to you) could even affect his tummy.

Over and above that his system has had the trauma of vaccines added - try resting his tummy for 12 hours and then feed a small light meal followed by a more normal portion at the correct interval.  Ensure he always has lots of fresh water readily available, even when fasting.  This course of action should in itself help his system to regulate.

If the problem persists for more than 24 hours, I'd have him checked again by your vet - puppies can dehydrate VERY quickly and at this time of year it's even more essential that they do not lose excess fluids.

HTH, regards Teri

Overfeeding can make pups loose.  Are you sure he isn't getting too much.  Are you going by the breeders instructions or by the amount on the packaging, which in nearly all dogs that I have known is way too generous.  Even if your feeding the amount the breeder advised, now that he isn't playing with his litter mates he may not need quite as much.

Could be the change has upset him - Bach Walnut would help with that, could be the new water, could be the vaccination - for that you'd need to see a Homeopathic Vet.
