Hi Guest

If she was a Dobe or Dane I would suspect a neck problem with her dragging her back feet - have you had her checked out by your vet?

Can't help with where to find boots but my elderly GSD has DM (Degenerative Myelopathy) and scrapes his back paws when he is out and about. I tend to avoid hard surfaces and stick to grassed areas etc.. to limit the damage to his feet.

It is a common problem with GSD's, boots can be got try your vets. Or if you are fit try slipping a long towel under the belly and take some of the weight whilst you are on hard ground, removing it when on grass. Not sure if that makes sense, I mean the dogs belly of course. We did this for a GSD for as long as we were able but he was a big boy and in the end he got to heavy for us. Jackie H

Can't help with boots, but is your dog actaully damaging the hind feet because of the dragging? I ask because I have an old boy who has become a shade lazy about lifting his hind feet. You wouldn't notice it on grass, but can hear a 'click - click' noise on hard surfaces. Yet there is nothing physically wrong with him, he doesn't damage his feet at all, and doesn't even wear down the back of his toenails.

Hi Guest

I think I have seen "doggie" boots in the Robinson's catalogue (for horses, but they do doggie items to). They have a website: www.robinsons-uk.com, but you could try calling them : 01744 885 555, they would be able to give you more information.

There is a company that makes devices for dogs, wheels etc. I saw its adverrt in a dog magazine. I don't have the magazine available to me now. I will try to find it and let you know the name.
