my little chinese crested is a little so and so, she bosses all the big dogs around and if she tells them to get out of their own beds or move off the sofa she wants to lie there they don't argue they move, except for our border collie who is 10 months old, he gets away with murder with her, he plays rough with her, and she loves it, she mock mauls him and pins him down and then lets him do it to her, if the others tried that woe betide the telling off they would receive from her, the border collie is allowed into her bed, onto the sofa with her she never reprimands him , the others go to puta paw on the sofa and the lip turns, the BC is allowed to play with her toys, allowed to eat out of her bowl, the others would not dare, if the others are playing at the BC squeals or yelps she flies from where ever she may be and full flying assult at the other dogs who dare make her little darling squeal,
Why does she do this,? why does she let him get away with murder and not the others,?
what makes him different to the others ?

Is it not simply because he's a puppy? my 10 month old border collie has similar license to do pretty much what she wants with the rest of the dogs. They accept things from her they wouldn't from other members of the pack, at some stage though they will I'm sure start to 'put her in her place' :D

LOL :D :D Thats funny... Sounds like the way Taz and Dozer were together. Dozer was allowed to crawl all over Taz, he was Taz's lil buddy and always had to stick his head in his mouth

They sound cute, I think Chinese Crested are so dang adorable looking :)

Years ago I had a bitch who was brought up with 2 of her litter brothers. One of them had a medical problem. She would only play with him, not her healthier brother. When we had to have him PTS she stopped playing. Full stop. It was only when I bred from another bitch (her niece) and kept a male puppy that she started playing again. She was 10 years old by then. So I'd say yes, they do have favourites. She obviously preferred males  ;)

My old Golden will growl and snarl and snap if any of the other dogs come  near his food when he is eating, EXCEPT if it is his daughter. Matilda (4) can stick her nose into his food and he will just let her. We always say she's daddy's spoilt girl. :) She's not in the slightest dominant towards any dog ever so that isn't it.

That's so sweet that Matilda is a daddy's girl. Dogs all have different personalities and Milo definitely prefers some dogs to others so I would expect favorites. If my spinoni ever show up I'll be able to test that theory. ;-)
