I had been feeding my bitch Arden Grange in her pregnancy she whelped 2 days ago and is just turning her nose up at it now - so I have been mixing in canned dog food with it which she eats a bit of then starts to just nudge it around the floor - also given her some chicken, eggs and also some whelpy to drink
Basically she is eating small amounts but it doesn't seem enough? what do all of you offer your bitches and generally how much??
thanks

When they whelp I feed mine 4 times a day in their beds.  I soak the food until it won't hold any more water, as I have found their mouths can become sore from the birth fluids and cleaning ppups, and also it maximises liquid intake, needed to keep milk production up.

I soak in cold water about an hour or two before feeding.

Mine don't do slowly increasing the amount they eat, but are on 3 to four times normal rations from the start.

Thanks for that - Keep on encouraging her to drink
Have just soaked some food so will try her with that soon
Cheers
