i dont know if this is normal behaviour but i was out walking her the other day when this lady and her son were walking up the path towards us and she started to walk slowley head lowered not taking her eyes of them then she went down even further untill she was almost crawling then as they walked past she got back up and was fine and this isnt the first time she has done it.
she has also done it off the lead once to a gentleman strolling through the park and once to a dog is this normal collie behaviour?

Very it is the instictive behaviour they ahve been bred for.

Unfortunately this herding insticnt needs controlling and channeling as otherwise it can manifest in unacceptable behaviour, the least of which you describe.

Many collies chase joggers, cars, cyclists, interupt football games,a nd as tyours is doing make people uneasy by roundign them up.

yeah she will chase anything that moves but the thing that i must say is annoying me is she has been trained to come when i call her and she does this no problem but when she sees another dog she will ignore me but when she sees a person i have to call her 2 or 3 times before she takes any notice how do i stop this

She is probably so focussed on what she is doing she doesn't hear you or want to hear you?  Have you tried using a whistle?

I think you need to work on her recall in these situatiaons, kerrie.  I'd have her on a long line so you can ensure an immediate reaction to your first call.  Make sure to reward with very tasty treat or great game when she recalls away in this situation.

I agree, it's about training for many situations - this means often going back to basics in differing or more challenging situations ;)
