Hi everyone
my four year old bitch is on steriod medication as she has a skin problem but the problem is she is starting to become aggressive with my other dogs especially where food is concerned.  Has any one else had this problem whilst on steroids.  I want to make sure it is the medication and not some other problem developing.

Yes a friend of mine girl was on steroids and this made her snappy with other dogs.
Also very hungry so you  must not fall into the trap of over feeding as steroids can make them put on weight very fast.drink excessively and pee loads!!

Agree with Starryeyes. Steroids are known for inducing aggression, and the hunger they create is unimaginable - so she will definitely be aggressive around food. I would feed separately.

Steroids alter behaviour and increase appetite.  These are normal and predictable side effects of this sort of medication.

I would try and manage the skin condition in another way and/or only use steroids to interrupt the problem.

thanks for replies.  I will try to keep steroids to a minimum but she can't cope without them
