wobblers syndrome/Cervical vertibral instability.

I need some info please if anyone has had experience of this??
Ive just had an email from a friend who has had her dog diagnosed ( one of the breeds commonly prone to this)
   To assist her in making a balanced (and difficult) decision I thought others actual experiences would help.
   Its a major OP for the dog and she'd like to know if its kinder to have him PTS or wether anyone has experience of a good quality of life after the OP?
