My five and a half month old pup has today been yelping when he tries to go to the toilet. He has managed to go but he keeps trying to look round at his back end and yelps as he goes. I have looked and there is no visible sign of anything wrong. He is fine in himself eating normally and there is no sign of him being ill. Will be taking him to vet tomorrow but has anybody any idea what it could be?

Could he possibly have swallowed something he shouldn't Jane which he could be having trouble passing?

Could be blocked anal glands...if you know how to do them, well do them! LOL If not a trip to the Vets, unless you know someone else that's experienced that could do them for you??? All the best, Dawn

Just seen this post, sounds like our boy when he swallowed a peg. He had to go to vet pronto to have help getting it removed!
I do hope all is well? Any news ?

Hi all Thanks for your replies. He was fine the next day and has been fine ever since. I think it may have been that he was trying to pass something that he had eaten. He is forever chewing sticks etc. He is eating, drinking and going to the loo fine.
