Today's the day we finally get to bring our little Welsh Springer home.  Should I be feeling so scared?  I'm sure I have bought, read, and puppy proofed everything, but I think the enormity of what we're doing has just hit me.

We've been waiting for over a year, but it hasn't felt real before... is this normal?

Thanks
Helen

How exciting - good luck!!

I waited for about ten years before getting my black lab pup - who I adore.  It's bee MUCH harder work than I ever thought (always had springers and more people about to help training them) but she is lovely.  Enjoy it all.  Take lots of pictures - they grow so quickly.

absolutely positively normal, and so is getting up and being on the pc at some ungodly hour, i couldnt sleep or sit still as the days grew closer to picking our bundle of love up.

Now its almost a year on and the time has flown by as you get sucked into the care, training, cuddles and minor setbacks, which  i may add feel like the end of the world but they never are really. I love every minute and its well worth all the hard work you put into it.

Good luck and enjoy every minute.

Awwwwww.......   perfectly normal, it will be one of the most exciting times of your life finally bringing that pup home.

You can read a million books but remember they are only guides, when you bring your pup home just go with the flow, watch and learn from your puppy and get to know him/her everything will soon fall into place.

Hope to see some photo's and enjoy every minute, they grow up so quickly. :-)

Just wanted to add don't worry if things don't go in accordance with the books you've read - in my opinion, most of them should be done under the Trades Description Act!! :D  Good luck, I'm sure you'll be fine, if shattered for a while! :)

Many thanks again,

congratulations and i hope all continues to go well. as for pictures, yes, you need to host them somewhere and then provide a link from your profile. if you don't have your own website google up free image hosting and take it from there! i think i'm not allowed to recommend anywhere but i have noticed that quite a few people use photobucket for this particular purpose.;)
