Hi

I have a 6 months old boxer and I would like a few opinions about feeding her our food.  I give her bakers complete for breakfast but for her afternoon/evening meal I tend to give her meat or fish and vegetables, she loves all fruit and veg and is generally a good eater.  Am I doing any long term damage by not giving her dog food as some people disagree?!?!?!?

Thanks

My danes get Bakers and Tripe and any leftovers from us... literally anything and everything :)

If the dogs were dependent on leftovers in our house they would starve to death :)

My two have bakers and tripe  they also get any
leftovers too. Not sweet stuff and junk though, just left over
meat veggies etc. :-)
what do you  mean by dog food?

i meant tinned dog food or just the complete.  Yes she only has meat and vegetable no curry or chilli ha!!! I never thought about tripe will have to get some for her and try it, sorry to sound thick but do you just cut it up, never had tripe??

yes green tripe from the pet shop , you feed it raw dont cook it it stinks!!!!!
I believe it is very good for putting weight on quickly.

I believe you would be doing more long term damage feeding your dog Bakers then feeding her,as you call it,*people food*,i prefer to call it fresh food as dogs deserve and need fresh foods  just as much as people do :)
IMHO the more fresh, live foods you can give your dog and the less sugar ladened preservative filled colourfied bakers you give her,the better :)

I agree with Ktee.

My two dogs evening meal is always leftover meat and veg.  If I've got too much leftover they may have nothing but "people food" for a couple of days.   Although I probably don't need to if I feed them only people food they also get a doggy vitamin that day.

Hi

I dont feed dog food at all. My pair are fed raw, I do get frozen blocks of meat from the petshop and frozen minced tripe. Most of the meat is human grade stuff from Tescos. They dont have any tins, mixes or complete foods.

Last night they had beef mince with left over pots and veg from our tea.

They look better now than they have every done
