hey all, my vizsla has her first show next weekend and i want to get a crate for her to have her own space and to cover it so she is calmer. i think she needs a 42" crate as all the smaller ones i think are too low in height. does anyone know if this size crate will fit on the bench? thanks in advance anna
I doubt very much. I have used a 36" crate for a Weimaraner bitch & that just fit into the bench. I would have thought a 36" crate would be ample size for a Vizsla as I use a 42" for 2 bitches.
I tell a lie....it was the next size DOWN I used for benching & not the 36". I used one with a double door as sometimes the benches were wider & other times narrower. It was a 30"L x 22"W x 25"H. This was big enough for an adult Weimaraner bitch to sleep in on her bench.
oh dear i am getting worried now incase hers doesn't fit. the width is 24". suppose i will just have to wait and see. she didn't fit into the 30" as she was always slougching (sp?) when sitting. :(
well if it is too long ( but as you say it should be ok) then i will have to not use it. at all the shows i have seen tho they look longenough for a 36". i will just have to wait and see. thanks for all the replies anna
Lord I wouldn't put one of my Elkhounds in the 30 inch crate (though do have one that size with the rounded sides that goes to 26 high) as the standard 24 inch height for that size means their ears stick out the top :D
I can happily fit two Elkhounds in a 36 inch crate which is 27 inches high, and 3 in my 42 inch soft crate, though did get one of the 36 inch ones of the sturdier heavier canvas ones for one or two dogs as it fits more easily into peoples cars.
