Hi Can anyone help?
I have had a 10 year old German Shepherd who is neutered and otherwise in fine health, we have only had him about 7 months as we rescued him.
The problem only seems to have arisen in the last month or so.
He is constantly desperate for a drink and will go in search or any puddles, leaks in the water butt or just a dripping tap to find water. If some is put in his bowl he will drink it dry and then be on the hunt for more. He is fed on dry food, as he has been since we got him.
Overnight he is generally fine, but occasionally he is put in his room with another dog and it will take 2 hours before he starts scratching at the door to go out, he then howls or knocks the door every hour until it is light.(now we have no door frame left due to excessive clawing while we were out for the day) and now he has taken to howling instead, he then stands there just expecting a drink and isn't wanting to wee or anything else.
We are at our wits end with him at the moment and don't want to go through the agony of loads of vets fees just to find either nothing wrong or something serious.
