My 9 1/2 yr old flatcoat has ben diagnosed with a secondary tumour in her lungs - the vet rang me today to confirm and i am deeply upset.Although she cannot be cured he has prescribed Trima care and Medrone tablets. I've looked on the net and Trimacare are antibiotics and medrone appear to be steroids. The vet gave me these the other day before she was properly diagnosed but when he phoned today i was too upset to think to ask if these drugs are really needed. She is drinking a lot more and her pooh is runny and i don't want her on medication which will just upset her routines if they aren't really going to help her.The vets are closed now for the weekend and so i cant call till Mon but i wondered if anyone had any thoughts? Thanks.

i have lost 4 fcr to tumors and the best thing is the let her enjoys life and to be comfortable,

if it a secondary sorry to say it not good.but with fcr they keep wagging that tail and act like peter pan to the end.

i never when down the route of medaction just go quailtiy of life,

i did go down that route with steroids with my gordon setter beacuse he was only 5 years old and at the same time the fcr was diganons with a tumour to.but the side effects of the steroids i did like what was happening to him.but every dogs different.

if you want to have a chat please email pravitley or go to the fcr page and get my phone number under glenturret
