Topic Dog Boards / Behaviour / shredding bed!
- By king of bling Date 27.04.06 09:36 UTC
Hi guys one of our dogs has a nasty habit of shredding his bed! He doesn't do it out of boredom or seperation anxiety or anything like that as my parents are home all day as they are retired and he has interactive toys and games, walks to keep him contented he just likes to nest in the beds stuffing!! Its soo strange! I was thinking of changing his bedding to shredded paper or something that he can nestle into as he loves his comfort! Has anyone else experienced this??

None of my dogs except for the two toy breeds can have any kind of bedding as they just rip it to shreds -they all have plastic beds only, can't even have blankets as they get torn to pieces, chewed and sometimes eaten -it's been the same in my house for the past 10 years. Same thing here, I'm home all the time etc.

Touch wood, the girls dont shred their. Pull it round the living room or try to take it outside yes but not shredding it. :)

Funny I just have a catalogue next to me and what do they stock but 'Indestructable Dog Beds' so you are not alone. Thankfully mine won't even move his, for him cushions and beds are just something to plop down on as they are.

He has a plastic bed with his soft bed in it. We have bought vet bed, soft beds you name it and he just shreds them!I don't like the thought of him just lying on the plastic bed but he drives me nuts with this trait of his!! Whats the make of this indestructable bed??

I have no experience with its claim but here it is http://www.waggers.co.uk/WaggersSite/product/Beds_Indestructible/1/017.htm. I think I've seen other places that advertise indestructable beds too. I looked at every dog bed in the UK trying to find something I wanted. ;-)

Hi
My boy did exactly the same thing with all his beds...I have actually lost count on how many I have bought him over the past year:eek: Tried all sorts and now finally I have found one that he has left alone..it's a leather look one and he actually sleeps on it!!!!
