hi again

Did your vet not x-ray him to check that there are no big pebbles stuck somewhere? I'd be really worried, unless he's improved since he past them.

To be honest I think 'growing pains' both in human and doggie terms is a 'coverall' and seems to be used for anything that presents with joint pain! I think it's a fallacy...just a term used when they can't be bothered or don't think you'll understand! Sorry!

i was continually told that i had growing pains (my knees were always sore and i did 12.5hrs gymnastics a week!!!) anyway the point is at 18 (and not growing anymore) i still have the same pains which are now finally being investigated. i agree that it is just a term that is used for everything :(

hi all
yeah thats what i thought aswell but there supposed to known what they are doing, ge did say it could hip displacia but wanted to give it a week to see how he responds to this treatment. because the lameness has moved from front leg to back he beleived it is not hip displacia but will do xrays and bloods in a weeks time if hes no better. he certainly seems alot better since he has been so fingers crossed

I have always heard Panosteitis (inflamed lining of the bones)refered to in laymans terms as growing pain, and not anything else. This is a self limiting condition that occurs in fast grownig animals more often male than female.
