Hi, I gave harvey some cooked chicken last night and he has got the runs. He hasn't eaten so far today but I have a bag of Hills perscription diet in from last time he was poorly, would it be wise to give him this for dinner later?
Thanks

I would give him nothing except water for 24 hours. Then start with 1/4 portion of his normal diet, gradually increasing the quantity back to normal over 48 hours from the start of feeding.

Thanks Val, will do that.

I'm cheering because I just got the first normal poo for nearly a week! Henry went down the drain after the manky cleared out grillpan remains and was sick on Tuesday night, then depressed for 2 days, then mostly ok in himself but with disgusting soft sticky poo. He ate so much grass the poo turned green, yuck yuck!! Hope your boy is fine again soon. :-)
Sometimes a tablespoon of the natural bio-yoghurt (not that low fat rubbish)added to their normal food, for a day or so, can help a dog with a slightly dicky tum :)

Tree Bark powder from Dorwest Herbs, is always a good thing to have for upset tums with diorreah (sp). It contains slippery elm powder which is an age old remedy for loose motions among other things.
